The insulating flange connection is necessary to eliminate stray currents in pipelines, so it is an integral part of pipeline systems.

Insulating flanged connections for gas pipeline

Flanged insulating joints are designed for various operating conditions and can be used in temperate climates or in low temperature conditions (cold-resistant version). The working medium can be steam, water, gas, petroleum products, as well as highly polluted and moderately polluted aggressive media.

The insulating flange connections are made of steel and consist of two flanges welded to the ends of the gas pipeline. A special third flange with a thickness of 16-20 mm is supplied as a set. To ensure the electrical insulation of the flanges from each other, gaskets made of paronite or other dielectric are provided, a coating made of bakelite varnish that protects against moisture saturation. Such gaskets can also be made of vinyl plastic (or fluoropolymer). The tightening pins are enclosed in split fluoroplast bushings.

The main applicable flange standards are ASME, ANSI, EN, DIN. All metal products are regulated by special documents, which contain all the basic information about the elements: dimensions, shape, types, types of connecting surface, pressure classes, materials and manufacturing methods.

Fasteners (stud, nut, washer) are used according to DIN EN ISO standards, depending on the load, climatic and temperature conditions of the pipeline valves.

Special types of primers and paints are used for anti-corrosion protection and long-term protection of metal in temperate and cold climates.
