Setting up the SPPC safety valve

Before using the spring safety valve, it is important to adjust it. The pressure adjustment in the element can be performed by rotating the adjusting screw, which compresses the spring. The spring, in turn, presses the gate to the seat, while the adjustment of the safety valve directly in the lever structure can be carried out by determining the desired weight of the load.

Safety valves do not need to be pre-set if the pressure is fixed immediately and produced at the manufacturer of JSC OZNO.

A safety valve is considered fully functional and operational if the element is able to provide the following aspects: initial settings, tightness of the overlap, full and tight closing and opening of the gate, full opening, the beginning of opening, along with full closing and opening with a deviation within acceptable values, which are given in the product data sheet.

Example illustration: Setting up a valve installed in the heating system in a ten-story building and connected directly to an autonomous boiler room (in accordance with an independent scheme, the connection can be made to the heat network). The safety valve is installed at the basement level, and the pressure value will be:

The parameters of the minimum operating pressure are the determination of the sum of the statistical pressure in the heating system itself. Therefore, ten floors of three meters will be equal to 30 meters of water, plus the excess minimum pressure taken into account at the level of the upper floor-about five meters. Based on this, we get: Pmin=30+5+35 m. water. st.=3.5 bar. In a heating system, the minimum, maximum, operating pressure can only be set when the system is filled with cold water. In the event that the water temperature rises, this can lead to a significant increase in pressure, which can reach the maximum operating value. Details of the principle of operation can be found in the basics of the expansion tank.

The limits of the maximum operating pressure of any heating system are set exclusively from calculations with the expansion tank closed. The lower the pressure, the larger the volume of the expansion tank will be, along with the fact that its cost will also increase. In this task, it would be appropriate to take into account the maximum operating pressure at the level of Pp+5.5 bar. In a heating system with its closed circuit, the maximum operating pressure can be reached at the maximum temperature of the carrier itself. This means that this can happen on the coldest days during the heating period.

In a heating system, the limits of its maximum allowable pressure are determined by the ultimate strength of the weakest element located in the circular ring. It is possible to assume that the pressure will be Pmax=8bar.

The pressure level in such a system should be Ph+6 bar and it is at this level that the safety valve should be adjusted. During the opening of the valve, the pressure in the system can be Pho=6.2 bar. In turn, during the full opening of the valve, the pressure in the system can be about Rpo=6.8 bar, and during the closing, the pressure indicator mark will be at the position Rz+4.8 bar.
